03.05
BR: My name is Dag Holli, I’m a Norwegian and I'm here at the TOP MARQUES show here in
Monaco and yeah, you see my car, it’s a Koenigsegg edition, limited edition. It’s going to be only
made 20 cars for the whole world. The whole car is made out of carbon fibre and it can run on
normal gas and bio-fuel as well.
03.33

03.41
BR: I think it’s the most beautiful car in the world, sports car and it’s the most powerful car in the
world as well, for legal road use.
03.48

03.52
BR: This is a Swedish production.
03.54

03.54
Ah this is Swedish, this is unusual.
03.56

03.56
BR: Yes, you feel very unique with a car like this because you don’t see it around very often.
04.01

04.06
BR: The company started in 1994 and since then they have produced first it was the CCH and then
the CCR and then the CCX and now the edition.
04.20

04.27
BR: I’m a customer first of all and I did the investment with the new edition model there and I also
did the design for the edition.
04.35

Jewellery Theatre Carravaggio

04.42
Do you actually produce the engines as well?
04.44

04.45
BR: Yeah, yeah, that’s 100% Koenigsegg engine.
04.48

04.54
Is it four wheel drive?
04.55

04.55
BR: No, it’s two wheels.
04.56

04.57
So just two rear wheels?
04.58

04.58
BR: Yeah.
04.58

04.59
And the engine, is it based on another engine?
05.01

05.01
BR: No, no, it’s 100% made of Koenigsegg. The old model had a Ford block, but the new one is
100% made.
05.07

05.15
BR: The founder of the company is Mr Chris ___ he is very technical.
05.21

05.22
So he’s an engineering,
05.22

05.23
BR: He’s done engineering yeah, and I’m more of the design thing.
05.26

05.35
BR: I heard a story about when he was five years old he watched a movie Frog … , it’s a puppet
movie actually you know with sport cars made like 30 years ago or something and he said to
himself, I’m going to build the world’s fastest sports car, and he did.
05.53

Jewellery Theatre Carravaggio

06.00
BR: The mentality is to keep the design as it is, with small changes, but not major things you
know, just optimise what it is you know, all the time.
06.11

06.19
BR: My background is supermarkets. We had a supermarket chain we sold 3½ years ago and then I
went into more interesting products like this you know.
06.30

06.38
BR: This is something you love you know, this is really impressive for yourself.
06.41

06.41
You could like wine, I mean you could have just bought a car and that was it, why did you go
further?
06.46

06.47
BR: Yeah because I wanted to have a special design, whole, I like to how the car look you know
and
06.53

06.53
So what did you say
06.54

06.54
BR: And this is made for the best performance as well you know, we are going to go into a new
race circuit with it you know and new top speed record we’ll take this summer. At least we’re going to try
and we think we’re going to do it.
07.05

07.15
BR: I don’t look at others as competitors as well you know, I think it’s, it’s a place for everybody
you know to do this you know, and I think it’s interesting to see different cars in the street.
07.23

Jewellery Theatre Elements

07.34
BR: No, just came here today so ___ and but we are sold, of the edition model, we are sold seven
cars so far.
07.42

07.51
BR: This is one of the special things for the car, it’s all carbon fibre you know, the standard model
is painted. But to make this car it takes almost twice as much time to have painted one.
08.02

08.03
Really?
08.03

08.04
BR: Yeah because it has to be very what you call it, swift ___ it’s like a suit you know, make a
suit. And just the body of the car, I think it takes like just above 6,000 hours.
08.18

08.19
So how long does it take to make a car from start to finish on average?
08.21

08.22
BR: Between 10,000 to 12,000 hours somewhere.
08.24

08.36
BR: The famous other brands they produced from 3,000 to 7,000 cars you know and the companies
like this will pop up I think you know.
08.43

08.44
So it’s not exclusive when you’ve got one of 7,000
08.46

08.46
BR: Exactly, I saw we parked outside the casino a couple of days ago you know, it’s 100 people
around the car in one second you know and they leave all the sports cars there.
08.54

09.06
BR: For me, because for sure we get a lot of attention you know, you don’t get the attention in the
supermarket business.
09.12

09.12
Have you ever thought of putting one of these in the front of the supermarket?
09.14

Jewellery Theatre Fairytales

09.15
BR: Ah, no, I don’t think it’s so good for the business there you know.
09.17

09.32
BR: People have different requests, somebody wants crocodile seats maybe you know, maybe
some diamonds on the dashboard you know.
09.39

09.40
And they do that?
09.40

09.41
BR: Can do everything of course you know, but I wouldn’t recommend it.
09.44

09.56
BR: It’s very costly and but I think this special market you know it’s not a mass production you
know and we are quite alone in this market and there is just a few other suppliers you know have
sold special cars.
10.09

10.19
BR: It’s got very, very good crash tests and everything you know, the car is not a compromised car
you know, everything is made of the best.
10.25

10.33
BR: This with the ____ it cost 1.5M Euros.
10.39

11.05
BR: Many different kind of customers you know, we never know who buys it and you never know
who is going to put in a deposit you know, after buying a dinner/dealer. Some get out the purse,
some disappear and some come suddenly from nowhere you know.
