DMC is all about sports cars and passion. We like to say that we don’t want to change the cars. But we like to take a good automobile and make it better

I was in banking before and money was good. But in banking I always had every Friday I had a sort of Saturday feeling. Like great tomorrow is the weekend right. And then every Sunday I had a Monday feeling. Ah gosh tomorrow back to work right. So I knew something is wrong with my life. Sports cars was always my passion. I knew the moment when I started doing this, this is the right thing,I was enjoying it.

All my friends went to Western countries to improve their career. They went to US and I said “Okay, you guys go West I go East”. And honestly that was the best decision I ever took in my life, because this is nowadays where all the money is. Our number one market for DMC is in China.

Chinese customers they love everything from Europe and they give you opportunities. In Hong Kong it’s a very small environment so it’s all about networking basically. I had some starting capital but really not much. But I knew that’s the guys to work with.

02:38.
In Chinese we say Guan Chi is relation. It’s all about relation, it’s about the people that you know. Probably in some cases, even if you have the money to do it but if you don’t know them well, they wouldn’t give you your car.

In Hong Kong it’s nothing special to see a Ferrari or a Lamborghini, it’s not at all. Imagine you’re the first guy to get the brand-new Lamborghini Aventador and you think you’re the guy then on Saturday you come to the country club in Hong Kong and there is exactly the same car that you spent €500,000 on, same color, same everything. They wanted to try to stay special.

03:26.
Tuning usually starts with engine performance. So we like to do some tuning on the engine and in order to support the stronger engine, we need to develop some aerodynamic parts which are usually or typically made of carbon fiber. From 10 customers, nine only go for the looks even though those looks, those aerodynamic parts are normally supposed to support the engine.

Two days ago we came from Zürich. We took some customers with us and drove down there to Monaco. But we were four, five DMC cars and really it was not about arriving in Monaco. We enjoyed the way there. We made a stop, not at a five-star restaurant just like at a highway stop. We had coffee, had a sandwich a Panini. It’s really about just hanging out with friends, customers and enjoying the motorsport.

04:27.
We like to say that we are famous for Lamborghini. These are beautiful cars to start with. Okay it makes the job easier. Also if you compare it to other tune upswe never go over the top. We never change the whole look. We like to think about it as a beautiful girl and she just adds a little bit of makeup.

We do engine performance to get more power. Example for the Aventador we are doing a LP900 kit. Traditionally this car is 700 hp and then after we tune it, it has 900 hp.
05:02.

05:12.
They are two kinds of engine tunings. We like to say the Americans style is often seen with the B-turbochargers adding more pressure, more air into it. We don’t like to do this. I know there are some Aventadors  in the world that has 1500 hp gosh, ours is only 900 hp. But we believe that the way we do it is more healthy to the engine and more traditional. And it’s not hi-tech what we are doing, where taking technology that has been existing since the 1950s, 1960s. We take out the engine, we enlarge the volume, we do new wiring, new camshafts…

A lot of my customers told me when they got the Aventador, it was too much Audi like. It’s just too tamed so we’re just adding something nice on the sound. I can’t tell you how we do it, it’s a little bit [06:10] of our secret, but it sounds like a monster.

Ferrari customers or Ferraristias they call themselves .They like the brand. A lot of them would never change anything on the car, but there is a saying ”The gentleman would drive the Ferrari and the playboy will drive the Lamborghini”. And I think that says it all.
