In 1998, he started ready-to-wear in Milan, and in the same year, he held a fashion show in Monaco which was attended by Princess Stephanie of Monaco. He gained notoriety after he became the first Lebanese designer to dress an Oscar winner, Halle Berry, in 2002. In May 2003, the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture invited him to become a member, and he showed his first haute couture collection in Paris in July 2003
When someone says the word fashion, what is fashion for you? Fashion, what is fashion?
Saab: Fashion for me it’s my life.
But does it mean something more than that?
Saab: No because me, I like to see always the woman in perfect shape and for me you know it’s
my passion, not only fashion for work, it’s my passion.
Saab: There’s this time I like to use this colour full of, and the strong colour because I describe my
collection from the 50’s, and I feel the volume of the 50’s like the style of colour. And maybe this
is the first time I use really strike colour like this.
Saab: I like the print like a trench style you understand not like Papillion you understand, it’s like
the woman he do it by his self. I feel like the contract that style, like possible.
Saab: Price the type of woman that’s wearing.
Saab: The woman very feminine maybe, the woman she feel she is a woman.
And the colours today?
Saab: The colours it’s very colourful and I use this style of colour for because the, I suit a lot the
50’s and the volume of the skirt and the design.
You have a very beautiful collection.
Saab: Ah thank you.
What inspired you to make this collection?
Saab: Always a beautiful woman.
And who’s the most beautiful woman for you?
Saab: Ah every woman.
Ah, very diplomatically countered. Monsieur thank you very much.
