MILAN
For
me the music must be made in the original
place - historic original place. Because my
music is classical music, including opera
and baroque. When the composer wrote the music,
he wrote the musical score thinking of that
particular venue. In the original place of
composition, and sometimes playing original
instruments, the musician really feels the
inspiration of the music which directly affects
the sound. For example when I recorded Salieri's
Passion of Jesus Christ, I recorded it at
the 'Minorita' Church in Vienna which is the
Church that inspired Salieri - the original
place where the music was first played.
